Girl Arrested for Cutting Food w/ a Knife

You've got to be kidding me... http://www.local6.com/news/14857286/detail.html Where is the common sense? Sounds like a bit of an over reaction to me. I will agree that she may have broken school policy by bringing a knife in to school and I could even get behind a reprimand or disciplinary action for that. Sending the girl to juvie is a bit much though. She probably even brought the knife in because of the stale bread provided by the school paired with nothing but a spork to use. Maybe we should give the schools a little more money so that eating utensils are not an issue. We can't even cover the basics of standard nutrition in today's school system? Perhaps I'm reading more into this than I should.

Leopard Wireless Woes

I've heard tell of WiFi troubles with Leopard but it hasn't really bitten me (or I haven't realized that it has) until now. I'm working from home today and I've lost my VPN connection with work twice. Both times I had booted my Macbook into Windows and I was rebooting into Leopard. When the Macbook comes up in Leopard suddenly none of my computers can associate with my Linksys router until I cycle power on it. It is as if the initialization and hand shaking of my airport connection just whacks out the router. The problem with that theory is that once the router is rebooted and the Macbook associates, my Windows, work machine associates just fine as well. Perhaps the problem exists when my windows machine is the first to associate with the wireless router or has something to do with my VPN connection. I don't think that is the case. It just doesn't make sense. I'm grasping @ straws a bit here. I can't really test my theories right now because I have work to do and I can't afford to kill my VPN pipe. Speaking of which, I better get back to it. I'll let you know if I figure anything out later.

Online Slump

I guess we all get burned out from time to time. Lately I have found it difficult to motivate myself on any project of a digital nature. Oh sure, I'm still working on a computer for eight hours a day but I have found it hard to do any personal computer work in the last few days. Granted a slump for me means only about 10 hrs. of computer time a day which I know for some is hardly a slump. It may partly be the stress of my job. It may also be that I am trying to make myself read more so it is a good excuse to curl up with a book. Whatever it is I am sure I will come out of this funk soon. I want to keep up my blogging and twittering. I also have some projects on the horizon that I want to find time for. Stay tuned. I can't stay away from the keyboard for long. It's in my blood. :)
